Trentham Aged Care
Central Highlands Rural Health is a Victorian State Government owned not-for-profit organisation that manages Trentham Nursing Home and Trentham Hostel, which are situated in the rural township of Trentham.
A home of 35 beds, we have rooms for permanent and respite care. We offer both single rooms with private ensuites and single rooms with a shared ensuite.
Single rooms with private ensuites and single rooms with shared ensuites are both 9 square metres in size.
All rooms are in excellent condition and have garden views. Beds and bedside lockers are supplied and ensuites have built-in cupboards and wardrobes. There are also connections for personal telephones and TV’s available.
The home is co-located with Trentham Community Health Centre and includes 24-hour nursing and medical cover. There are no restrictions on visiting hours and car parking is free. Trentham Health has the Rainbow Tick accreditation.
Common areas description
There are many multipurpose lounge and dining areas differing in sizes suitable for a small private gathering or a large get together with family and friends. The main living and dining area has a communal TV/DVD player.
There is an active lifestyle program and residents are encouraged and supported to maintain their social links with their friends, family and community.
Additional care and services included in the room price
- All staff are trained in caring for people with dementia.
- Volunteer and friendly visitors are available to provide additional social and pastoral interaction and support.
- There is an extensive quality and risk management program to ensure all residents have the best possible care and attention.
- Meals are cooked on-site.
- Primary Care services are available on-site Monday to Friday.
- Registered Nurses are on site 24 hours a day.

Daily Accommodation Payment calculation: Accommodation Payment x Current Maximum Permissible Interest Rate (8.43% – effective 1 January 2026 – 30 September 2026) divided by 365 days.
The amount you pay towards the costs of your room depends on your on your income and means assessment. If you pay a refundable accommodation deposit or a refundable accommodation contribution, they may be subject to retention. Any daily accommodation payment you make may also be subject to indexation. Explanation of payment options
Residents can choose to pay for their accommodation by a refundable deposit, a daily payment, or a combination of both. A refundable deposit is paid as a lump sum amount. A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically, for example monthly. A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments.

Service costs
Aged care homes are required to provide care and services as outlined in the Aged Care Service List within the Aged Care Rule. This includes help with everyday living tasks, as well as clinical and non-clinical care. These services are paid for or supplemented in different ways. Support for your daily living
Support for your daily living is paid by your basic daily fee and the government hotelling supplement. Depending on your financial circumstances, you may pay some or all of the hotelling supplement as a hotelling contribution. Estimate what you’ll need to pay.
This aged care home offers services and facilities to ensure comfortable everyday living, including:
- administration services and emergency assistance
- utilities such as gas, water and electricity, and heating and cooling
- room, bathroom and communal area furnishings
- toiletry goods
- personal laundry
- meals and refreshments
Clinical and non-clinical care
Clinical care is fully supplemented for everyone on 1 November 2025 fee arrangements. Depending on your financial circumstances, you may need to contribute towards your non-clinical care costs by paying a non-clinical care contribution. Estimate what you’ll need to pay.
