Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing

Acknowledgement of Country

Central Highlands Rural Health respectfully acknowledges that our organisation is on Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country, whose ancestors and their descendants are the traditional owners of this Country.

We acknowledge their living culture and their unique role in the life of this region.

We pay our respects to leaders and Elders past, present and emerging for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and the hopes of the Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Peoples.

We express our gratitude for the sharing of the land, our sorrow for the personal, spiritual and cultural costs of that sharing and our hope that we may walk forward together in harmony and in the spirit of healing.

Artist: Maddi – Chlo & Co Creatives

This amazing artwork was commissioned by Kyneton Health in 2018. Maddi Moser told us about the inspiration and creative process behind her artwork where she drew on her ancestral ties to depict Taungurung’s relationship with waterways, the land, and the manner in which time continues those connections, despite aspects of country changing.

We’re really proud to host this stunning piece of art at the front of our hospital and hope it communicates our sincere welcome to our indigenous visitors.

Tell Us What You Think!

We would like to hear from members of our communities on how we can best support Aboriginal Victorians to access health care.
You don’t have to tell us who you are but we would like to know what you think!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
