Speech Pathology

Speech Pathologists help people communicate or when people have trouble eating and drinking. Speech pathologists work with people of all ages. They provide assessment and treatment for difficulty understanding and talking with others. They help with reading, spelling and using technology or other ways to communicate. Speech pathologists also provide assessment and treatment for people who have trouble swallowing.

At Central Highlands Rural Health, the Speech Pathology team work with:

  • Children under school age experiencing difficulty with communication development
  • Adults in the community experiencing communication and/or swallowing difficulties
  • Residents and patients in our nursing homes and hospitals

One-to-one assessment and therapy appointments are available at Creswick, Daylesford and Trentham Community Health clinics. Contact the Access Worker on (03) 5321 6539 for more information about making a referral.
