  • Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS)

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS)

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) is a common hormonal condition that affects how the ovaries function. Symptoms may include irregular periods, weight changes, acne, excess hair growth, or difficulty conceiving.

Previously known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), PMOS was renamed in May 2026 to reflect a growing understanding that the condition affects far more than the ovaries alone. The change aims to improve awareness, support earlier diagnosis and help women receive more holistic care and treatment.

Our GP and endocrinologist offer diagnosis and management tailored to your needs. We take a whole-person approach — looking at your hormonal health, lifestyle, metabolic risk factors and reproductive goals.

Whether you’re managing symptoms or planning a pregnancy, we’ll work with you to develop a plan that may include lifestyle support, medication and ongoing monitoring.

PMOS can be complex, but you don’t have to manage it alone. We’re here to provide clear advice, timely care and long-term support, close to home.

Appointments are available without a referral. To book an appointment, please contact our Women’s Health Clinic directly.
