Oncology

Oncology services are offered at Kyneton Health, providing care for patients with cancer and related illnesses.

The service includes an Oncology Clinic where newly referred patients will be seen by a Medical Oncologist and Specialist Nurse. Patients already receiving treatment can also be reviewed at the clinic.

The service also includes a range of treatment options including chemotherapy and other supportive therapies such as blood transfusions and immunotherapy.

Patients receive high quality care close to home in a friendly and compassionate setting.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT?

To assist with chemotherapy preparation, you will be given a pathology request form to have blood taken 24-48 hours prior to your appointment, unless otherwise advised. Austin Pathology is located onsite at Kyneton Health.

The length of stay will depend upon the type of treatment you receive. Morning/afternoon tea is provided, alongside a light lunch. Each chair has a television however you are welcome to bring in items from home (books etc…) to help make your stay more comfortable.
