Our dietitians offer a positive and non-judgemental service for those seeking support with food, eating, health and wellbeing. They provide accurate and easy-to-understand nutrition information, helping separate fact from fiction.
Their skills lie in helping you to:
- Explore and understand your relationship with food, health and your body.
- Assisting you in understanding your barriers to change and overcoming these.
- Ongoing motivating and collaborative support during the journey of change.
Using evidence-based guidelines, personal preferences, social circumstances and medical history, our dietitians can develop recommendations to achieve specific health-related goals and help with a variety of food, eating and health concerns including:
- if you’re not sure what to eat for your health
- your mental health or medication has changed your appetite or the way you eat
- you have a low appetite or concerns you are not eating enough
- if you’ve had to cut food or food groups out of your diet (e. g. due to allergies, intolerances, or vegetarian/vegan eating)
- diabetes or blood sugar management
- high cholesterol or blood fats
- adding variety to your diet to give your body the nutrition that it needs.
- heart health, liver or kidney concerns
- gut health and conditions affecting the gut (e.g. irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease)
- trouble chewing and swallowing
- eating as well as you can on a budget
- if you would like to stop dieting and are not sure what to do next.
- what or how to eat to get the most out of your exercise or movement
Our dietitians do not recommend restrictive diets (dieting) and do not believe that you need to lose weight to improve your health. They can support you in finding ways of eating that are most helpful for your health needs and that improve the way you feel about food and your body.
We have dietitians who have extra training in paediatrics (children), disordered eating and coeliac disease.
