Daylesford Health’s Perioperative Unit has one fully functioning operating theatre. Visiting specialists and anaesthetists conduct weekly elective operating lists, allowing Hepburn Shire residents to have surgery close to home, thereby avoiding the need to travel to regional and metropolitan hospitals. General surgery scope of practice at Central Highlands Rural Health includes Endoscopy services.

Our experienced surgical nursing team provide person-centred care to our patients before, during and after their surgery.  They follow the World Health Organisation Surgical Safety Checklist and implemented quality measures like our pre-admission checklist and post-op follow-up.
