Phil Catterson

Phil has returned to the fold so to speak after growing up on his family’s farm on Sailors Hill Daylesford, since that time he has worked in many roles in health as an orderly, intensive care nurse, emergency nurse and in management – always bringing compassion, energy and humour to all he does. Phil clocked up 28 years of service at Ballarat Health services, 16 years as NUM of Emergency which was both rewarding and stretching in the ever changing world of health. He has had the opportunity as part of a scholarship program to study patient flow in the UK and took a 12 month secondment with Department of Human Service to manage the emergency & trauma program. One of his highlights was to complete the 2013 Critical Link leadership program which really helped him (& his great friend Jaycen) develop the program – ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ for their emergency department and to gain a better understanding of how to build a work culture of kindness and accountability. He loves helping his community and has been fortunate to do aid projects in PNG and Indonesia.
