The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS), Australia’s leading independent authority on health care, has recognised the high quality care given to patients of Kyneton Health by awarding the health service accreditation through its NSQHS Standards program.
Maree Cuddihy, CEO of Kyneton Health said the NSQHS Standards Accreditation program was a rigorous, consumer-focused program which measured how effective a health care organisation was in terms of patient care.
“ACHS accreditation sends a clear message to the community that Kyneton Health, its management and staff, are committed to excellence in health care with a strong and continuous focus on safety, quality and performance,” said Maree Cuddihy.
“We are thrilled with the outcome of the two day assessment. The strong result is an absolute testament to the fantastic commitment and dedication of every one of our staff and volunteers.”
“I would also like to commend the members of our Consumer and Community Advisory Committee for their contribution, not only during the assessment and evaluation process, but also for their support and commitment to quality through continuing dialogue and improvement initiatives.”
“We are aware that consumers today demand high standards of health care and are pleased and proud that Kyneton Health has been recognised for meeting this expectation.”
Accreditation is used by health care organisations to continuously improve the quality of care they deliver to the community. Organisations must demonstrate during a three-year period how they have improved their services.
“The fact that Kyneton Health has achieved ACHS accreditation is a strong recognition of everyone’s input into the accreditation process.” said Maree Cuddihy.
The ACHS is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which has received international recognition for assessment and evaluation from the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) and is responsible for accrediting the majority of health care organisations in Australia.
