Since the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic back in March, our Community Nursing teams have seen a steady rise in referrals to their services.
More patients are being admitted for hospital-in-the-home, reducing the burden on acute settings. Similarly, patients in need of palliative care are electing to stay at home, preferring to have regular visits from our Palliative Care nurses for their ongoing care and symptom management.
More patients in the community means an increase in nurses on shift every day. At Kyneton Health, we have increased the number of nurses on the road from five to seven, however to facilitate this increase, we needed more cars!
In less than a week of our request to the government’s car lease department VicFleet, two new cars were on our forecourt, courtesy of a super quick response from Kyneton Toyota.
We are thrilled with our new cars!
