"Cold caps or scalp cooling may help reduce the amount of hair loss for some individuals. They work by narrowing the blood vessels and reducing the amount of chemotherapy reaching the scalp." Cancer Council
Currently, Oncology patients are unable to access this important technology designed to minimise side-effects and maximise best care at Kyneton Health. Patients receive high quality care close to home in a friendly and compassionate setting. We would like to improve our service with the introduction of a scalp cooler.
Spirit de Cure and Suncorp are contributing $10,000 which is a great start to the appeal!
“Suncorp are honoured to support Kyneton Health’s Scalp Cooler Appeal with a $10,000 grant, which will help enhance this vital work in our community. Our generous donors, who support Spirit to Cure, make it possible for us to contribute to such meaningful causes and make a real impact in the lives of those in need.” - Suncorp
Susan Jennings, Director of Clinical Operations, Central Highlands Rural Health said,
“We are truly grateful to receive funds from Suncorp and Spirit to Cure’s donors to enhance our Oncology services. We’re now asking our local community to consider giving a gift that will make a difference to our cancer patients receiving chemotherapy treatment.”
We would like to purchase this much-needed equipment as soon as possible and we need your help! We need a further $37,244 to reach our target.
If you can make a donation please visit Kyneton Health’s reception and complete a donation form.
