We currently have COVID-19 cases in our Acute (hospital) ward at Daylesford Health. The positive patients have been moved to a zoned area of the ward. If this directly impacts your family member, you will be notified as soon as possible.
We are working closely with the Victorian Department of Health and the local Public Health Unit to care for all patients in the ward. This includes appropriate public health actions of isolation, quarantine, and cleaning as well as close contact tracing and testing of patients.
Additional testing will be carried out for patients that have attended the facility in the last 48 hours as a precautionary manner, however they will not be required to isolate whilst waiting for results unless they become symptomatic.
Any other visitor or family member will only be permitted to enter the facility under exceptional circumstances or where a patient is receiving end of life care. We will continue to communicate with families about the health and wellbeing of our patients. Only staff rostered on to work in the facility will be permitted to enter, and only after being screened for symptoms and risk of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Please be assured our priority remains the health and wellbeing of those in our care and we will welcome visitors as soon as it is safe.
If you would like more information please contact the nurse in charge at the facility with your request.
